COLLEGE CREDIT INFORMATION
Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA) offers all students the exciting opportunity to earn free college credit through partnerships with area colleges, including Clover Park Technical College, Bellingham Technical College, Whatcom Community College, and Skagit Valley College. Each NCTA program offers different credits based on articulation agreements with these colleges, and students who meet the required standards can apply for CTE Dual Credit in the spring. These offerings are designed to be relevant and practical, and may vary depending on available college programming and agreements between NCTA and college instructors. As students begin their education at NCTA, they are encouraged to discuss these opportunities with their instructors to ensure they leave with valuable skills, industry certifications, and a head start on their college education.

WORK-BASED LEARNING (WBL)
NCTA values our many educational and industrial partnerships, which allow us to offer a content-rich learning environment to our students, both within the classroom and via work-based experiences. NCTA offers a content-rich learning environment, and a unique opportunities of connection between students and local industry to enrich the student learning experience.
Work-Based Learning (WBL) and Worksite Learning (WSL) are instructional strategies that provide students with career exploration opportunities and hands-on learning where knowledge gained in NCTA's courses can be applied to real-life work experiences. It bridges the gap between education and the working world by preparing students for future careers. WBL and WSL are beneficial for all students but can be especially useful for students from low-income backgrounds and students who may not have access to career exposure, educational opportunities, professional networks, and social capital that often play a critical role in career success.
