The automotive service course will consist of shop safety, organization and operation. This course provides the skills and the knowledge required for job entry in the automotive trade at the apprenticeship level or additional training in a career-technical institute.

About Automotive Services

Automotive Services provides skills and knowledge required for jobs in the automotive trade at the
apprenticeship level, with the opportunity for student automotive certifications or additional
training in a career-technical institute. The course consists of shop safety, shop organization and
operation, theory and repair of engines, electrical systems, brakes, fuel systems, cooling systems,
power trains, suspension and steering alignment. Students will make repairs on the automobile in
these areas at the trade accepted standard. (Sedro-Woolley, 3rd Session) (Advanced 2nd year
available to qualified students)

I enjoy teaching students hands-on skills they can use in their career - as well as in life. It's always a joy to watch their capabilities grow over the year and know that when they finish the Automotive Services course at NCTA, they're ready and well-equipped to continue their education or start working in the automotive services industry directly out of high school.

  • Fun and Keeps You Busy

    Students should enroll because it’s a great way to learn your tools, parts, and how to use and take care of your equipment. It’s fun and keeps you busy as well as gives you many opportunities for colleges and trade schools. My favorite parts of class were the students, the environment of the class, being able to work together with each other to build motors, repair cars and/or trucks, and learn all about career options. Before I got into auto I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but after I got involved in the class it opened my eyes to all the different things I got to do with working on cars.

  • Widen Horizons

    Students should enroll for a great opportunity to widen their horizons in the automotive world. My favorite thing about the class was getting the chance to learn new things and work on customer vehicles.
