Mrs. Neyens will be teaching the PM (11:30-2) Session of Money & Business! School starts on Wednesday, September 2nd! We will be accessing class materials through Google Classroom. Each student will have an account issued through the Mount Vernon School District.
Money & Business prepares students interested in starting their own business or working in the exciting fields of business, marketing, or sales. The course focuses on business strategy, entrepreneurship, marketing, and money management.
Students will also learn about social media marketing, video production, graphic design, & business communications. Students will complete creative projects during the course, including, creating a new product/service/experience, creating marketing campaigns, presenting in a virtual business simulation and finally, completing a business plan.
Students will also have the opportunity to join and compete in a CTE club as well as a hands-on experience during an internship at a local business. (Mount Vernon Campus)This is a year-long program (September - June), beginning with virtual learning. Our learning schedule has been set up as to not conflict with their current High School schedule.
High school students may earn the following credit equivalencies for the school year: 1.0 Technical Mathematics, 1.0 Business English, 1.0 Occupational Education. See your high school counselor for details. CTE Dual Credit is being developed for this program through Skagit Valley College .
Students must provide their own transportation to internships.
